Find out what one of our customers had to say about her recent struggle with finding the right shoes for her little girl.
Dear Sir / Madam
I have been buying school shoes from you for my daughter for the last 2 years, and I would like to say they have been absolutely brilliant. They are supportive, sturdy, robust, comfortable and great for lasting longer than one term at school. (Which is as long as most shoes on the high street last) There is nothing on the high street that is suitable.
I’m sure you have read recently the outcry with girl’s school shoes at Clarks. They don’t offer support, they are definitely not robust, let alone sturdy, and to say they are overpriced is an understatement.
When I was on the hunt for a new pair of shoes for my daughter, I wanted buckles: all I could find was Velcro. People seem to think that laces and buckles are no good for children as they can’t do it themselves. They can, they just need teaching how to. My daughter learnt how to do her buckles in 2 days.
I wanted something that wasn’t completely flat: everything on the high street was a ballet type shoe.
I wanted something that would support her foot and keep her socks dry in the winter. I also wanted something that would last longer than 1/2 term and was affordable. She wears her school shoes on the playground, on the field running around, in the woods climbing trees and the Chipmunk shoes last.
I’m so glad I found your website when I did. I initially purchased the Esme in a size 10 but found they were slightly too big so kept them and ordered the 9 which she wore for 2 terms. I then decided to buy the same style of shoe in an 11 and 12 because I was so happy with them and didn’t want to go through the stress of looking for shoes every time she outgrew a pair.
I’m so happy that you are now making shoes up to a size 2 and hoping that the ‘Ellie’ is one of them as I feel she needs to go into something with a thicker sole.
